West Bromwich Albion were victorious away to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship on Saturday. Despite a 2-0 lead by the second half the match was far from over, and the second half saw Blackburn mounting a worthy challenge to West Brom’s lead but West Brom were able to hang on till the end and win the match 2-1.
The visiting team West Bromwich Albion started the match at pace and took the lead straight away at the start of the game. After only one minute Alex Mowatt found the net.
Straight after the break, Matthew Phillips found the net and increased the team’s lead.
In the 51st minute, Ben Brereton netted, to reduce the score for Blackburn Rovers. However, Blackburn Rovers were unable to make more of an impression. The 1-2 goal was the last goal of the game.
The last match between the teams ended in a 1-1 draw, with Blackburn Rovers at home in July 2020.
