The England League Two game on Saturday between Mansfield and Newport County was decided already in the first half. The home side Mansfield were up 2-1 by half time and that lead stood until the final whistle.
Mansfield started the match best and took the lead when George Maris scored after 7 minutes, making it 0-1.
Newport County equalised to 1-1 early in the match when Robbie Willmott made his mark as he scored in the 9th minute.
Mansfield took the lead just before the half-time whistle as Ollie Clarke scored. The second half was goalless and the match ended with a 2-1 win for Mansfield.
After two games, Mansfield have six points while Newport County have three.
Mansfield will host Colchester on Tuesday. Newport Co will face Tranmere at Prenton Park on Saturday.
