Just five minutes later, with an assist by Gianluca Lapadula, it was Andre Carrillo who scored a goal ensuring that the team equalised to make it 2-2.

With one game remaining, in the qualifiers Ecuador are in fourth place in the table and Peru are in third.

In the next round on Sunday, Ecuador face Brazil away, while Peru host Venezuela.
