UEFA committee members lifted away goal rule in European competition

The decision must be approved at the highest level.

The Times reporter Martin Ziegler claims that UEFA committee members have come to a consensus on away goals. They want to completely cancel their influence on the result in case of equality following the results of two matches.

Now the decision is up to the executive committee. Thus, if the goals are equal, there will be extra time.

The away goal rule has been in existence at UEFA for 56 years. Previously, it was planned to cancel it only for overtime.
