Fabio Capello remembered the days of football when Manchester United and Arsenal were coached by Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. The specialists had full control over all aspects of the club’s life. Now the approach to the profession of a coach has changed.
“Ferguson, like Wenger, was United’s absolute leader. He worked little in the field, where he delegated personnel who strictly followed his orders. Wenger also had complete control, although, especially in the early years, he was on the field much more than Ferguson. However, we are talking about football of the nineties and the first decade of this century. Football has changed and is changing primarily in two areas: technology and communications. Social networks are a reality that a modern mentor must face, ”- said Capello.
