Are Real Madrid set For A Period of Domination in Spain?

Real Madrid won their first La Liga Championship in three years last season, concluding an excellent campaign for Zinedine Zidane’s side.

With Barcelona in a rebuilding process, can Los Blancos dominate in Spain over the next few years with more titles heading their way?

The reigning champions will have a great chance of doing just that as they have a squad that is very settled and capable of delivering more. A lot of credit must go to Zidane who has generated a great harmony amongst the majority of his players.

It was Real Madrid who best handled the interruption last season in the world of football. Given that their rivals are in the process of having a huge overhaul of their squads, they look in the best position ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Real Madrid are the odds-on favourites at 4/6 in the La Liga betting next season. The bookmakers, therefore, expect them to be the team to beat once again. Barcelona are second best at 7/4, the biggest price they have been for the title for many years.

More to Come from Hazard

Although he ended the campaign with a La Liga winners’ medal, last season was a frustrating one for Eden Hazard. A lot was expected from the Belgian after Real Madrid splashed out £88.5 million to secure his services from Chelsea last summer.

With a full pre-season under his belt heading into the new campaign, Hazard may finally show Los Blancos fans why he is one of the best players in the world.

Hazard is capable of being a real hit in La Liga. In his final season in the Premier League, he scored 21 goals so he knows where the back of the net is.

Real were hoping Hazard could fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo who left Madrid to join Juventus in 2018. If he stays injury-free this season, he may be able to meet those expectations placed upon him.

Young Players Continuing to Develop

The current La Liga champions have a great chance of further success over the next few years as they have a lot of talented young players in their squad. They played a big role in the team’s success last season and they should continue to flourish with more experience.

One of those players is 20-year-old Vinicius Junior. Real signed the Brazilian from Flamengo in 2018. He has made 69 appearances for the senior team since then and has now broken into his national team’s squad.

Zidane is a manager who is prepared to give youth a chance in his team. With Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, Luka Jovic and Federico Valverde all under the age of 23, they could be part of a successful Real team for the next decade or so.

The future is definitely bright for the Madrid club. They have had to settle for watching their rivals Barca dominate over the last 10 years, but now, it could be their time to cement their place as the number one team in Spain.
