There’s a full list of midweek Premier League fixtures, which includes a rare two games on Thursday night.
Liverpool host Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, whilst Leicester City will be looking to keep within touching distance of Jurgen Klopp’s side when they host Watford the same night.
Manchester United welcoming back Jose Mourinho and Tottenham Hotspur is probably the highlight of the round, whilst Manchester City face a tricky trip to Burnley on Tuesday.
Here are my suggestions for your fantasy football gameweek 15 captain:
The 32-year-old is in some of the form of his life, having scored in six successive Premier League games. Second place Leicester City play host to bottom of the table Watford on Wednesday night in a game that no one can see the visitors getting a single point from.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have scored two or more goals in each of their games during this winning run, whilst the visitors are simply looking hopeless, having taken just eight points from their opening 14 games.
Leicester City should put up a couple of goals as they stroll to victory in this game and you have to think Vardy will get at least one of these, if not a hat-trick. If you don’t have the striker, James Maddison or any of their defenders are other good shouts for your captain – Both full-backs, Ricardo Pereira and Ben Chilwell have a couple of goal involvements whilst centre-back Jonny Evans always looks a good threat from corners, without actually scoring in the Premier League this season.
Premier League leaders Liverpool host out-of-form arch-rivals Everton at Anfield on Wednesday night. The visitors start the midweek EPL action narrowly above the relegation zone and deprived of confidence under Marco Silva.
Assuming the Toffees lose this one, you have to think the Portuguese manager will be shown the door at Goodison Park. And lose is certainly what I expect from Everton in this one. Their defence has been very poor this season and you have to think Liverpool’s front three could put up at least three goals in this one.
Anyone of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino would be a sensible choice as your captain in this one. I’m leaning towards Sadio Mane, not just because he’s in my team, but because he’s Liverpool’s leading fantasy points scorer and has scored in this fixture previously.
Danny Ings is quietly scoring the goals for a struggling Southampton side. The striker has netted in each of his last three – versus Everton, Arsenal and Watford. The Saints host Norwich City and their leaky defence on Wednesday night.
The Canaries look incapable of keeping a clean sheet and it’s starting to look bleak that they’ll play Premier League football next season. From Southampton’s point of view they must be looking at this as three points.
I am expecting a few goals in this game and am edging towards a Southampton to win. For that to happen, Danny Ings is likely to be among the goals as only he and James Ward-Prowse are getting among the goals among Ralph Hasenhuttl
