3 best fantasy football captains for GW3

Aston Villa host Everton in the first fixture of this weekend’s English Premier League action, so be sure to complete your team by 18:30 GMT this evening.

The most-anticipated tie of the weekend comes at Anfield when Liverpool take on Arsenal in a match between the only teams with a 100% win record.

Fantasy football players are anticipating from Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur players in particular this weekend. Here’s who I suggest you strongly consider for picking as captain:

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool host Arsenal in a game that we can expect to be a goal fest. Fortunately for those living in the United States it’s one of the late kickoffs in the EPL so we can enjoy just as much as our English compatriots.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have run the Gunners ragged in recent seasons and Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have particularly enjoyed playing against the London club. Of those two, and even including Sadio Mane, Salah has been Liverpool’s hottest property to start the new campaign. The Egyptian forward will be lined up against Nacho Monreal and when he cuts inside he’ll be up against David Luiz. This has goals written all over it! I really wouldn’t be surprised if Salah scores a hat-trick against this defence. I don’t think Unai Emery upgraded over the summer. In fact, they’ve probably downgraded by signing David Luiz. They’ve yet to be tested against Newcastle United and Burnley but watch them fall apart at Anfield on Saturday. Trust me. Our friends who provide excellent Premier League tips are also confident Liverpool will win this.

Harry Kane

Newcastle United is another defence that is looking leaky at the start of the new season. The Magpies have been beaten 1-0 by Arsenal and then 3-1 at newly-promoted Norwich City. Striker Teemu Pukki scored a hat-trick in the latter.

Steve Bruce takes his side to the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium this weekend in a game we can expect them to get thumped. Sure, Spurs do have Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min to score them goals but let’s face it, Harry Kane is the main man. He’ll be on the scoresheet on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero

Manchester City have scored seven goals in their opening two fixtures ahead of their trip to Bournemouth this weekend. Eddie Howe’s side never defend well so you can expect the defending champions to rack up lots more goals.

There’s a few good options in this City team to choose as captain but I think striker Sergio Aguero is the safest bet. The Argentine should see a fair number of chances in this game and he’s lethal in front of goal. Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez are also good options if you have either of those in your team instead of Sergio.
