Norwich City and Sheffield United were the surprise packages of the EFL Championship last season as they finished first and second respectively.
Daniel Farke’s Canaries had finished in the bottom half just a year earlier under the German and fans of the East Anglia club had been calling for his head just 12 months ago.
Add in the sale of James Maddison to Leicester City and fans could not have dreamt they would be kicking a Premier League ball this season.
However, some exciting football and attacking talents saw Norwich blitz their way back to the big time. And I think they’ll be the next season too.
Norwich are going to be a very enjoyable team to watch this season as they like to play attacking football, with explosive players like Onel Hernandez, Emiliano Buendia and Mario Vrancic supplying hitman Teemu Pukki up front. Full-backs Jamal Lewis and Max Aarons are also very creative when they bomb forward.
Whilst it has been a modest transfer window so far from Norwich, Daniel Farke will stick to what he knows best and play attacking football. Sure, it may be naive when up against the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool, but when his side take it to the likes of Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Southampton, they’ll pick up their victories.
There are some bargain Norwich players to have in your fantasy football team. Stay clear of their defence, but players such as Teemu Pukki (6.5), Onel Hernandez (5.5) and Tom Trybull (4.5) could prove fruitful over the course of the season.
Norwich aren’t among the three favourites to go down this season but I think they’re great value to stay up at 10/11 – a bet to add to your season-long accumulator.
