After a weekend of FA Cup matches the Premier League returns for a full set of midweek matches on Tuesday and Wednesday. The current table sees just 8 points difference between Everton in 8th place and Swansea City in last. This leaves little room for error for the majority of teams in the league. The relegation battles seem to be heating up already and this has seen an increase in the activities of various betting sites like Bookmaker.com.au. The bottom five places alone have just 3 points of separation. There is still plenty to play for all of these teams which is good for some, but still means that there is time for others to drop.
At the top of the table, the title is already gone, but there is still plenty to play for the next 6 places. At the moment as there is just Eight points between Chelsea in third and Arsenal who are currently sixth on the table.
This weekend’s fixtures shouldn’t affect this much and the only big game of note is the Tottenham v Manchester United match. The second place United travel to fifth place Spurs in a match that could see very little change in the table. A United loss would keep them second even if Chelsea win while Tottenham would need Liverpool to lose in order for them to move up into fourth. Arsenal on their own part will be hoping Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool lose points and they win their own match to reduce the deficit between them and the others ahead of them.
