World Cup Winner Signs Chelsea Deal

Callum Hudson-Odoi has signed his first professional contract at Chelsea less than a month after being part of the England under-17s side that won the World Cup in India.

The forward is capable of playing anywhere across the attack and has been scoring and creating goals for the Blues youth teams since he joined as an under-8.

Hudson-Odoi was a strong contender for man of the match in the under-17 World Cup final last month after providing three assists from the left wing as England thrashed Spain 5-2.

Chelsea have handed a three-year contract to the 17-year-old which is the maximum length that can be offered to a player signing their first professional deal.

The youngster will remain in the Chelsea youth set up at least until he turns 18 next October, at which point he could then be sent out on loan to Vitesse or another club.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is emerging as one of the brightest young talents in English football and with the way he has progressed over the past year, Chelsea fans can be excited by the prospect they have in their youth team.  Should Hudson-Odoi continue to progress at the rate he is currently then Blues fans can expect him to have made his first team debut before the end of this professional deal that he has just signed.
