Talks Ongoing, Roman Abramovich Ready To Get UCL Winner For Chelsea

It appears former Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti is on his way back to Chelsea as manager once again. The Italian was sacked by the Blues back in 2011 despite winning the Premier League title. But if reports in both the Italian and British media are accurate, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is working to bring back the former Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich manager to Stamford Bridge to replace Antonio Conte.

According to a report by Italian media outlet Il Messaggero (as reported by Sportwitness), Abramovich has been on the blower to Ancelotti, though they have not revealed whether the discussion between both men was positive or not. However, it remains to be seen if Ancelotti would turn down the chance to manage Italy for the Chelsea job. Although the Italian football federation is yet to decide on who will replace Gian Piero Ventura, who was yesterday sacked as manager of Italy, there have been calls in many quarters for Ancelotti to take charge.

Arsenal are also likely to be in contention for Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season, especially if Wenger steps down, which considering how poor Arsenal have performed so far this season, is likely. One thing that will work in the Gunners’ favour is the fact that Arsenal are not known to indiscriminately sack managers, unlike Chelsea.

I think due to the influence of Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, and the fact that they are able to pay Ancelotti good money, they have a chance of getting him ahead of Arsenal and Italy, but in my opinion, Chelsea would be better served going for a younger manager. Diego Simeone or Massimiliano Allegri. No disrespect to Ancelotti, but in my opinion Simeone and Allegri are both younger and better.

Imagine a Premier League with Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Diego Simeone and/or Massimilano Allegri? Can’t wait for such to happen. Honestly!
