According to Sky Sports, Sergio Aguero was hospitalised after fainting at half-time in Argentina’s 4-2 defeat against Nigeria last night – not good news for Fantasy Football fans like myself.
Aguero had started the match against the Nigerians and scored in the 36th minute but was substituted at half time.
The Manchester City striker has been a big points earner for Fantasy football fans who have him in their teams. But an injury ridden few weeks, including a fractured rib in a car accident, has meant he has been missing from action more frequently.
Aguero could now be unavailable for the Blues next game which can’t be good news for Manchester City or players of fantasy football either.
In Aguero’s absence Gabriel Jesus is likely to capitalize. The Brazilian hasn’t done badly so far this season and it may make sense to swap Jesus for Aguero. However, a decision should not be rushed until City know more.
Pep Guardiola is likely to provide an update on the Argentinian and other Manchester City injuries later on Thursday.
Fantasy football fans will do well to keep an eye on this situation.
