Deal Agreed In Principle, Star To Complete £8m Man United Transfer In January

There are not many players in the Premier League who divide opinion as much as Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini.

The midfielder was the star man at former club Everton and was linked with moves to Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal before David Moyes took him with him to Old Trafford.

Since then, the Belgian has been in and out of the United team. Until this season where he has become an important player under Jose Mourinho and become the go-to guy whenever the Red Devils require a plan B.

However, according to reports, Fellaini could now be on his way out of Manchester, with Turkish side Besiktas believed to be his next destination. It has been suggested that talks between the Belgian international and United have reached a stalemate and that the player will almost certainly not sign a new deal with the Premier League giants.

In a report by the Mirror, it says that United could be forced to accept a cut-price deal for the 29-year-old in January so that they do not lose him on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.

The Mirror believe he could leave for as little as £8 million despite the Red Devils having shelled out £27.5m when they signed him from Everton in 2013. It would mean that United see a significant loss on their assets should they be forced into selling in January.

Only recently did Mourinho confirm what a big fan he is of Fellaini’s and we can’t imagine he’ll be happy should the two parties fail to reach an agreement to keep the Belgian at the club beyond this season.
