Chelsea To Beat Manchester City To Signing Of 30 Goals 15 Assists Star?

Most Arsenal fans have given up hope of retaining Alexis Sanchez at the club beyond his current contract which expires next summer.

And who can blame them? The South American looks on his way out of the club already. Rumour has it that Manchester City will make another move the forward in January once the winter transfer window opens – it’s no surprise, in spite of the Sky Blues wealth of attacking option.

Arsenal may choose to sell in the January transfer window as Arsene Wenger won’t want to lose the former Barca star on a free transfer considering how poor he has been for the Gunners this season. He scored 30 goals and created 15 assists in 2016/17 but so far this term has just two goals and three assists.

Everton have also been linked with the signing of the soon to be 29-year-old Chilean. But, in truth, a move Goodison Park looks unlikely given the forward’s desire to win trophies.

How about a move to Chelsea?

I am surprised that the Blues are not actively being linked with the signing of Sanchez. He would suit Antonio Conte’s side especially given the lack of a stable left winger at Stamford Bridge.

Both Willian and Pedro have been rotated on the left side of attack, but can you imagine a forward three consisting of Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Sanchez? That would scare defenders in the Premier League.

Undoubtedly, Roman Abramovic has the money to pay the Chilean what he wants and as a bonus, he can also offer the potential to win trophies – something that he won’t get with the Gunners.

Do Chelsea have a chance?

Like I said earlier, Manchester City have many attackers and it is a big surprise that they still want Sanchez. With Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling all in top form does Guardiola really need Sanchez now?

If you ask me, I believe the Citizens will make their move in the summer and not next winter. They will want to get him on a free transfer and it’s a situation that could play into Chelsea’s hands.

Arsenal are unlikely to want to lose their prized possession on a free transfer which could play into Chelsea’s hands. If I was Antonio Conte, I would make a £35m bid for Sanchez this January and test Arsenal’s resolve.
