Week 6 Premier League Predictions 2017-18

Week 6 Premier League predictions arrive following another set of midweek matches after the League Cup fourth round. This season has seen its fair share of interesting results and last weekend was no different. It’s been something of an odd start to the season with few teams really jumping out ahead. There are several that seem to have fallen flat on their face while others have been quit mediocre.

Starting out with disappointing teams is the first match of the weekend with West Ham sitting near the bottom of the table, but finally picking up some points in their last team matches. They host Tottenham who have the attacking stats to back them up, other than the ability to actually convert their chances. In terms of FPL, Spurs have been very disappointing, particularly in their drab 0-0 against Swansea. At least they are on the road for this match, so it should be a win for them.

Leicester City v Liverpool should be an interesting match considering Leicester’s 2-0 midweek win in the League Cup. Both teams put out mostly changed sides, so this weekend should be somewhat different. If there is any team out there built to break the hard press of Liverpool, it would be Leicester City, so I am predicting goals in this one.

Speaking of goals, Crystal Palace finally won a match and finally scored some goals, but 1 goal in the Carabao Cup does not translate into getting anything in the Premier League. Unfortunately for them, they are up against a Man C side that has been rampaging.

On the Red side of Manchester, United travel to Southampton in what will be a difficult match for the league leaders. Southampton have not looked good this season, but have still managed to churn out points here and there, with just one loss. Still, there is nothing like playing Manchester United to get a team to finally turn up and put in a fantastic display (i.e. Stoke City).

The bulk of the matches are being played on Saturday this weekend with Sunday’s match being Brighton v Newcastle while Arsenal host West Brom on Monday night. It remains to be seen if Arsenal are actually back in form after putting in an excellent display against Chelsea last weekend, or if they will revert to type and get drop points against a West Brom team that has allowed 4 goals already this season while scoring just 4 of their own.
