Week 24 Premier League Predictions 2016-17

After a quick set of midweek matches, week 24 is here for the weekend. Fortunately there is still time to get your FPL team set with the deadline coming on Saturday morning.

Now is also the time to start preparing for the week 26 blanks with Arsenal, Man City, Manchester United, and Southampton all without matches due to the League Cup. If you want to be ready for week 26, now is the time to start prepping your team. I wouldn’t recommend using your wild card just yet, since there will be other blanks coming up as well as double gameweeks. Instead, you’ll be better off trying to fill your team with players who will play, including your bench. With four teams out, you can hang on to a few players from these teams to leave on your bench, so long as you can cover them with starters for this week.

Week FPL 24 FPL Matchups

I really don’t think there are any teams with outstanding matchups for week 24. Watford host Burnley and Everton host Bournemouth as perhaps the two best matchups for the weekend considering both Burnley’s and Bournemouth’s difficulties on the road. FOR Romelu Lukaku (9.6), MID Kevin Mirallas (6.1), DEF Seamus Coleman (5.7) and DEF Leighton Baines (5.7) are good picks here while for Watford forward Troy Deeney (6.6), DEF Younes Kaboul (4.4), and DEF Miguel Britos (4.3) are all decent picks, particularly the latter two who have 0.9% and 0.7% ownership.

Man City at home to Swansea should be a straightforward match and holding on to MID Kevin De Bruyne (10.5), MID Raheem Sterling (7.7) or MID David Silva (8.6) are good choices. The problem here is whether or not to take FOR Jesus (9.1) or to have FOR Sergio Aguero (12.8) in your team. Jesus started in midweek, but this doesn’t guarantee him a start for the weekend, so be careful when deciding here. MID Leroy Sane (7.5) could be a sneaky differential in midfield with just 0.5% ownership and back to back 90 minute matches played.

This could be a difficult weekend for some of the big players on Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. With Arsenal and Chelsea facing one another it’s difficult to say how it will go, but I would lean towards Chelsea in this one. Liverpool are travelling to a resurgent Hull City who have recently shown themselves to be quite resilient while Manchester United have a difficult test against Leicester City to see if they can turn around their recent dip in form.

Hopefully some of these FPL tips help you out in week 24. Good luck and have fun!
