Gameweek 21 FPL Tips 2016-17

After the brief hiatus of FA Cup matches we have the Premier League returning with week 21 matches which also means the return of FPL! With matches starting on Saturday it is time to start getting your fantasy team set now and hopefully prepare for the upcoming fixtures as well.

Bournemouth players are my picks for the best differentials for the next three matches. In gameweek 21 they face Hull City away followed by Watford and Crystal Palace at home. Bournemouth’s away record has not been good at 2-2-6 where they have scored 10 and allowed 16, however, they are facing bottom of the table Hull City. Now, City could certainly make this an interesting match since they did look a bit better in their midweek League Cup match, but I’m not expecting much from them.

Bournemouth at home is where they have really shown their abilities this season with a 5-2-3 record including a positive goal difference having scored 19 and allowed 15. So even if they don’t produce this weekend, look at them to do well in week 22 and 23.

Joshua King (FOR) could be worth a look at 5.3 and only 0.7% ownership. The only problem with King is his playing time having failed to play a full 90 minutes since week 13. Despite that he’s managed to pick up at least 2 points in the last 5 matches. A 5.3 forward isn’t a bad option to have especially if you want to make room for the big guns up front.

Ryan Fraser (MID) is just 4.8 and has only 0.7% ownership at this point. He might not be a long term selection, but his recent form has been great. In the last two gameweeks he’s scored 8 and 13 points despite not playing a full 90 minutes. The fact that he hasn’t played a full 90 minutes all season is worrying, but he is a gamble that could be worth taking considering the Cherries upcoming fixtures.

Captain’s Picks

For gameweek 21 captain picks there is an assumption that you would own at least one of these players. I’m not giving any

Alexis Sanchez

With Arsenal facing Swansea there should be plenty of chances for Alexis to make his mark. The Swans have given up 45 goals this season including 23 at home while Alexis has scored 13 of his own this season and provided an assist the last time Arsenal faced Swansea City.

Christian Eriksen

Eriksen is the closest thing to a differential captain pick. I’m putting him here because Tottenham have been playing well lately and host West Brom in week 21. In addition Eriksen has been doing quite well lately scoring in double digit points in 5 out of their last 8 matches. He is also on free kicks for Tottenham and has picked up 7 assists this season along with 5 goals. His average of 2.9 key passes per game is third best in the league as well.

Diego Costa

Chelsea facing Leicester City away is a good chance for the Blue to pick up points and for Costa to get some more goals. Chelsea was largely shut down against Spurs in week 20, but Costa still managed to get 4 shots with 1 on target. His average for the season is 3.1 shots per game and 1.4 on target while Leicester City has allowed the 7th most shots per game at 14.1.

It looks like Costa won’t be featuring this week after being dropped by Conte: Diego Costa: Chelsea striker is dropped after dispute over fitness with coach

Good luck in gameweek 21 and always have fun setting up your FPL team.
