Week 7 Premier League Predictions 2016-17

Another Friday night game will begin the week 7 fixtures followed by 5 matches on Saturday and another 4 on Sunday. All of this will have to hold us over before the dullness of yet another international break.

With the “break” coming up it is a good time for teams to pick up points and there are many teams hoping to reverse a terrible start to the season. The middle and lower portions of the table are filled with teams that have struggled with consistency as well as being filled with teams that filled the upper half of the table last season.

Teams like West Ham, Stoke City, and Leicester City were not expected to be as low as they currently are, especially with West Ham and Stoke City sitting in the relegation zone at the moment. Still, there is plenty of time to turn things around, starting with this weekend.

The top of the table is looking strong with Everton being the one wild card that has really forced themselves into consideration for a top four place. At the moment they are level on points with their cross town rivals, Liverpool. Their Friday night match hosting Crystal Palace is a great chance to bounce back from last weekend’s loss as well as to push themselves into second to start the weekend. Crystal Palace, however, are another team that have been a bit of surprise with 10 points putting them in seventh while also scoring a modest 10 goals so far. This should be a fantastic match to start week 7.

The final match of the weekend is one that really could be interesting. Burnley managed to pull off an unexpected 2-0 win over Watford and their 7 points have them near the middle of the pack in 13th place. Unfortunately for them, they are coming up against an Arsenal team that just steamrolled Chelsea in week 6 with their dominating 3-0 performance.

While they may have started slowly with a loss and a draw, they have gone on to win their last 4 and have scored the third most goals in the Premier League with 15. Having given up 7 goals there is some hope for Burnley, but it is hard to see them picking up any points in this one.

Hopefully this weekend is full of excitement, especially considering that we will have to wait another 2 weeks of boring internationals before the Premier League returns again. In the meantime, it can be a good chance to take a good hard look at your fantasy Premier League team and make adjustments as necessary.
