Week 5 Premier League Predictions 2016-17

With week 5 coming up this weekend it seems more than clear that Man City is the team to beat this season. With Premier League matches kicking off early with another Friday night match featuring Chelsea hosting Liverpool. The Blues have started to look better with each passing week and this should be a good match to start out the weekend, particularly with both teams having scored 9 goals already.

After winning their first ever Champions League match in midweek Leicester City will be hopeful of getting their second Premier League win as they face off against a Burnley team that is just ahead of them in the table thanks to goal difference. Perhaps that first European win will kick off a run of favorable matches, although, there is also the chance that playing in midweek will cause a further slip in the league.

Another excellent match to look at for Saturday is the late kickoff between Everton and Middlesbrough. With Ronald Koeman taking the reigns for the Toffees, they have picked up 10 points from the first four matches. Romelu Lukaku really made a mark in last Monday’s 3-0 win over Sunderland and will certainly be looking to carry on with his goal scoring. Middlesbrough have been a team that seems like they should be playing better on paper, but have been rather shaky to start the season. With 4 goals scored and 4 goals allowed their even goal difference and a 1-2-1 record has them nearly dead middle of the table in 9th place. This is certainly going to be a tough match for them, but also one that they could get points from.
