Week 29 FPL Tips

The big thing to look at in week 29 for fantasy Premier League managers is to start preparing your team for the upcoming match weeks. Just as a reminder, week 30 features multiple blanks for several teams and this will need to be accounted for now to avoid having to spend points to make transfers. For myself I began prepping for this several weeks ago and have it set so that I won’t have to make any more transfers, barring injury, but will have the ability to make a transfer prior to week 30.

The other major schedule change has yet to be announced officially, but it is assumed that week 34 will be a double gameweek for most of those teams missing out on week 30.  For myself, I am saving my second wild card to be able to prepare for this after week 33.

As far as preparing for this weekend Leicester, Manchester City, and Southampton are all good choices for stacks whether playing in a DFS tournament or in a salary league. These are three teams that will all be playing in week 30. If you are looking for some differentials Bournemouth and Norwich both have players with low percentage ownership but high upside considering what they have done this season.

Bournemouth has done very well when it comes to their defenders picking up fantasy points with both Adam Smith and Charlie Daniels being two great choices. However, both of these are fairly well known. Instead you could clear up room up front to pick up a heavyweight forward like Aguero by spending low on Benik Afobe or Max Gradel. If you are looking for a defender to put in Steve Cook is one that has been picking up points recently and provides offensive points as well as picking up defensive points for their recent clean sheets.

While I am picking Southampton as a stack for this week, Sunderland should not be underestimated, particularly with their recent form. Players like Patrick van Aanholt, Wahbi Khazri and Yann M’Vila are all excellent picks. The problem with picking players from Sunderland is that they are one of the teams slated to be missing out on their week 30 match.
