Week 10 Premier League Predictions

week 10 Premier League PredictionsAfter nine matches played the season is showing signs of things to come as teams begin to progress and stake their claims for positions in the table. There is plenty to play for with the season only a quarter of the way through. Still, the Premier League table is starting to shape up into something a little closer to what we will see come the end of the season.

What can fans expect this weekend? There are several quality matches to check out this weekend culminating in a mid-table clash between Liverpool and Southampton that should be entertaining.

West Ham are hoping to continue their fine form against a Chelsea team that finally got back to winning, albeit against relegation embattled Aston Villa. I’m picking a draw in this one, but that is mostly down to the fact that Chelsea have yet to truly impress, particularly defensively, this season. At the same time the Hammers have not exactly been keeping goals out of their net, but have scored the second most goals in the league this season with 20.

Sunderland and Newcastle face off early on Sunday in the Tyne-Wear Derby which is setting up to be very interesting. Newcastle finally broke out of their slump by putting five past Norwich City, but still allowed two. Sunderland looked as drab as ever in their 1-0 loss to West Brom, but this is a match that seems to bring out the best in Black Cats players over the past few seasons and could see them finally pick up their first win of the 2015-16 season.

Leicester City play host to Crystal Palace in another match that I’m predicting to have plenty of goals in it. Likewise for Tottenham in their trip to Bournemouth after the hosts ended up on the wrong side of a 5-1 defeat to Manchester City. Spurs showed a whole lot of patience and presence of mind in the 0-0 draw to Liverpool and I’m expecting them to put on more of a show in this weekend’s match.

The premium match of the weekend is most certainly the Manchester Derby with United playing hosts at Old Trafford. Results for both clubs have been mixed this season, but it has been City who have really shone lately with two consecutive Premier League wins and a combined score of 11-2. Both teams have five clean sheets this season with United keeping the most recent one in their away 3-0 win over Everton.

Man City currently lead the Premier League in goals scored with 24 compared to United’s 15. Additionally both teams have allowed the second fewest goals with eight. Will there be goals in this one or will it be a tactical defensive battle? I’m predicting a draw in this one considering the balance of the two sides.

That wraps up another week of Premier League predictions. I know I didn’t put out any FPL tips for last week, but I’m hoping to have time later on this week to put something out. If not, you can always find my weekly post over at Togga.
