FA Cup Fourth Round Replay Predictions

2015 FA Cup PredictionsThe fourth round of the 2015 FA Cup produced just four draws leading to replays. Predictions for the midweek matches follow with three matches including Premier League clubs.

Out of these four matches taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, three of the original matches ended at 0-0. While this is interesting, I would say that it doesn’t mean much for the replays. Every team left has something to play for as well.

Fulham v Sunderland – Sunderland have had their struggles all season long and the same could be said of Fulham. The fact that they held Sunderland away is something of a statement. While I’m picking Sunderland for the win, don’t write off the Cottagers chances of coming through this one.

Sheffield United v Preston – It seems likely that their first match was a draw mostly because of Sheffield United’s focus on the Capital One Cup. Playing at home this time, they should have more than enough to come through as winners. Preston enter Tuesday’s match having gone seven matches without a win.

Manchester United v Cambridge United – With Manchester United playing at home there is absolutely no excuse for them not to cruise through this one. Their 3-1 win over Leicester City over the weekend was a precursor of things to come.

Bolton v Liverpool – With Liverpool now out of the Capital One Cup they can now put their focus on this match and the FA Cup. I’m expecting Steven Gerrard to play in this one. Despite crashing out of the Capital One Cup they have been looking better recently. Against Bolton they are coming up against a team that has not had a win in three games. It could certainly be a close one, but with the return of Sturridge I give Liverpool the edge.
