Premier League Predictions: Todd’s Match Week 18 EPL Picks

Week 18 Premier League PredictionsWith match week 18 in the Premier League come the Boxing Day fixtures. The holiday period is always entertaining, but also make predictions that much more difficult. It’s hard to determine which teams will decide to rest players and which will charge ahead with a full squad.

I know that the number of matches being played in a short period of time is less than ideal for any team, but as a fan, I absolutely love it! Being able to spend the holidays watching soccer is something that I always look forward to doing and it becomes even more fun when you can do so with family.

Friday’s Boxing Day matches don’t have any huge matches to be played, but there are several intriguing match-ups. Leicester City v Tottenham could have some interesting implications with Nigel Pearson under a lot of pressure. A loss for them could result in this season’s first managerial sacking.

Fantasy Premier League
Chelsea will have the least amount of rest going into Friday’s home match against West Ham United. This could be good for the Hammers who have had a rather varied style of play this season being able to both work the ball into the box as well as going more direct. This could get them a result against Chelsea, but this Blues team is really strong.

Manchester United face a test at home to Newcastle United. The Red Devils are second in the form table and are undefeated in their last 7 matches. Still, they looked languid at times against Aston Villa and are STILL struggling to get their attack going. Last season’s match at Old Trafford saw the visitors win 1-0 and this will be a hotly contested match to be sure.

12:30ET/17:30GMT Arsenal 3 v 1 QPR  2 – 1

Arsenal face Queens Park Rangers for the late kickoff of the day. The Gunners gave up a last minute equalizer to Liverpool while QPR were dramatic come from behind winners on Saturday. Still, QPR have a very poor away record having lost all 8 this Premier League season.

I am very excited to watch as many of these matches as possible and plan to spend a good portion of the day in front of the TV/computer doing so. I do hope that you all have a great holiday season and enjoy the soccer!
