Fantasy Premier League Tips for Game Week 16

Fantasy Premier League TipsIn the week 16 matches there are several good matchups for fantasy Premier League team owners to look at. Last weekend’s results included several that affected the outcomes for FPL team owners and this could be the case again this week.

In my week 15 fantasy Premier League posts I recommended Lukasz Fabianski for my goalkeeper choice over at Togga. I also recommended picking up Marouane Fellaini, as well as looking at Ander Herrera and Juan Mata in my week 15 FPL tips. The problem is that all four players had awful weekends. Fabianski probably had the worst weekend having given up two goals and getting a red card resulting in negative points.

It happens. Last week’s matches were full of red cards with nine of them being shown. There were also some key injuries with Sergio Aguero being the worst of the bunch and looking like he will be out for close to two months, maybe even longer.

This weekend FPL players will need to find a replacement for Aguero. The two ways to go about doing this include picking up a high priced striker in a like for like swap or going with a lower priced striker along with stacking your midfield.

Fantasy Premier League
There are plenty of mid to low range strikers to look at as replacements with costs at 7.2 or less. Here are a few picks to look at in the coming weeks:

Diafro Sakho – £5.8: The West Ham United forward is returning an should get more playing time. In his 45 minutes last week he scored a goal and picked up 17 bonus points. Not bad for a half of a match. This weekend West Ham travel to Sunderland in what should be a match with goals.

Danny Ings – £5.8: Burnley are starting to turn in results and are playing a struggling Southampton at home. It would be a shock if they get a win or even a draw, but if they do, Ings will be at the center of it.

Bojan Krikic – £4.9: The Stoke City forward has started to turn in some performances recently. With Stoke taking on Crystal Palace and needing to get a result I expect Krkic to be leading the Potters. He has just 2 goals this season, but has only recently been playing regularly.

Of course if you want to go with a high priced option here are a few to pick from, if you don’t already have them:

Robin van Persie – £12.5: The Manchester United forward has finally hit a vein of form; just after I write about he is on the decline. In the past three matches he has 3 goals including two last week.

Wilfried Bony – £8.5: The Swansea City striker has been banging in the goals recently. His 7 goals this season have come in their last 9 matches.
Diego Costa – £11: Chelsea’s main man has hit a recent slow spell going without a goal in the last three matches and having played in just two out of the last three. This weekend Chelsea take on Hull which could either be a difficult match or very easy. Hard to say with the way Hull have played this season.

Wayne Rooney – £10.5: With the Manchester United vs Liverpool derby this weekend, Wayne Rooney will be ready to go. It is interesting that he is listed as a forward in the Premier League fantasy game, considering that he has spent most of his time in midfield. Still, this means the possibility for more points. While he missed out on the match at Stoke, he did get an assist at Southampton and has scored 2 goals in the last four matches.

Some Premier League injuries to note include:

Aaron Ramsey:

Vincent Kompany:

Cesc Fabregas suspsension:

Courtois on the bench with Petr Cech starting:

If you haven’t done so yet, head over to Togga. I’m really promoting their draft style fantasy soccer leagues since they are a lot of fun!
