Premier League Preview for Manchester United v Swansea City along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
The Week 21 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. You can use this preview for your own information or for any betting that you may do which can be done from any of the Premier League Betting Links here on the blog. I’m starting this preview prior to United’s Capital One Cup Semifinal against Sunderland. They come into this match having just lost to Swansea, at home, in the FA Cup. Old Trafford no longer instills fear into their opponents and the team no longer has the swagger of United teams of old.
United also comes into this match after the disappointing loss to Tottenham on New Year’s Day making it back to back 1-2 losses at home. Prior to this they had gone on a four match winning streak in the Premier League.
Fabio’s red card against Swansea on Sunday means that he is yet another player added to their list of those unavailable. There are a few players who could be available including Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jones, Rafael, Wayne Rooney, and Ashley Young. They will still be without Fellaini, Nani, and van Persie.
Swansea will certainly be flying high coming into Saturday’s late match and they will have had a full week to prepare as well. The FA Cup win over United on Sunday was their first win in their last eight matches in all competitions. In the Premier League they have gone six games without a win.
Swansea City does have their own injury concerns with Nathan Dyer, Michu, and Michel Vorm all still out while Pablo Hernandez and Roland Lamah are listed as questionable. The good news is that Wilfried Bony has been in form lately scoring three goals in his last two matches.
My pick is for a draw. This is one match that placing a bet on a draw or Swansea City win could bring you some decent money. With that said, it is also a match that could go either way. Manchester United will certainly be targeting this game for three points and if they get Wayne Rooney back, he could be the catalyst they need to do just that.
Betting Odds: United win: 1.45-1.50; Draw: 4.25-4.53; Swans win: 7.29-8.50
Form: United (L, W, W, W, W, L) Swansea (D, D, L, L, D, L)
Prediction: Manchester United 1 – 1 Swansea City
