Premier League Predictions: West Ham United v Sunderland Preview

West Ham United Preview

Premier League Preview for West Ham United v Sunderland along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 16 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

West ham United has been heading in the wrong direction and Sam Allardyce is looking more and more likely to be the next manager sacked in the Premier League this season. Following their back to back away losses they have dropped into 17th place in the table with 13 points, which leaves them level with both teams below them. They have one win in their last eight EPL matches. During this time they have scored six goals (five if you deduct the own goal from Liverpool) and allowed 14.

Sunderland come in to Saturday’s match having lost 17 out of the last 19 in the Premier League. They are currently at the bottom of the table with only eight points from a 2-2-11 record and a -18 goal difference after allowing a league high 30 goals. Sunderland are also winless in every one of their away matches this season going 0-2-5. The positive signs for Sunderland come in their last three matches where they have scored four goals and kept a clean sheet. They did allow six goals, however those six came against Chelsea (4) and Tottenham (2).

I’m taking a chance and predicting a Sunderland win on Saturday. This should be West Ham United’s chance to bounce back from their string of disappointing results, but Sunderland have been showing positive signs of growth recently and the week of preparation should help them.
