Believe it or not, but Chelsea and Crystal Palace have identical records over the past six Premier League matches with both teams going 3-1-2. Chelsea are coming into this match on the back of a 3-2 loss to Stoke City in the second consecutive EPL match in which they allowed three goals.

The good news for Chelsea is that they have been able to score at least two goals in their previous 12 home Premier League games where they are also unbeaten in their last 16. Compare this to Crystal Palace who have one away win in their last seven matches, which came in the 1-0 over Hull City.

Coming into this match at Stamford Bridge Chelsea are in third place with 30 points (level with Liverpool) placing them just five points behind Arsenal. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, is sitting second from the bottom in 19th place with only 13 points. However, they are also even with Fulham and West Ham while being one point behind Cardiff in 16th place and two points behind West Brom in 15th.

I’m predicting a Chelsea one, and one in which they score at least two goals. Chelsea’s defense recently has been less than spectacular, but Crystal Palace’s inability to score could balance that out and lead to a clean sheet for the Blues. Going in to Saturday Crystal Palace as scored the fewest goals in the Premier League with only ten.

Betting Odds: Chelsea win: 1.19-1.20; Draw: 6.75-7.50; Palace win: 14.82-18.00

Form: Chelsea (L, D, W, W, W, L) Crystal Palace (L, D, W, L, W, W)

Prediction: Chelsea 2 – 0 Crystal Palace
