Premier League Preview for Southampton v Fulham along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 9 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Southampton have been one of the big shocks to start this season. They are currently placed in sixth with 15 points and a 4-3-1 record. After spending most of last season in the relegation zone, this is quite the change for them. Their +5 goal difference includes their league best defensive record of allowing only three goals, including five clean sheets. They have not allowed more than one goal in any match.

Fulham have not had such a great start to the season and only recently pulled free of the relegation zone. They managed to move up into 14th place on ten points after their 4-1 win over struggling Crystal Palace. This also moved their goal scoring tally up to nine on the season. They have allowed ten goals and kept only one clean sheet, in their week one 1-0 win over Sunderland. This is also the only match that Maarten Stekelenburg has played in prior to his injury.

My prediction for Sunday’s game is a Southampton win. Fulham have finally gotten onto a streak of back to back wins, but they are facing an in form Southampton who have not lost in their past five matches and have a stifling, pressing team that will shut down Fulham. Fulham will need to be able to hold on to possession under pressure, but could get goals from a set piece or some brilliant individual play, which is quite possible with this team.

Betting Odds: Southampton win: 1.58-1.62; Draw: 3.87-4.17; Fulham win: 5.95-6.70

Form: Southampton (L, D, W, W, W, D)   Fulham (L, D, L, L, W, W)

Prediction: Southampton 2 – 0 Fulham
