Premier League Previews

Premier League Preview for Tottenham v Hull along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 9 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Tottenham come into week nine sitting in fifth place level on points with Manchester City at 16 and only three off of the top. Their 5-1-2 record comes with eight goals scored and five allowed.

Hull City’s 3-2-3 record has them in ninth place on 11 points, level with Manchester United and Newcastle United. They have scored seven and allowed nine in eight matches, which is quite respectable for the recently promoted team.

Tottenham’s start to the season includes a dominating possession with an average of 59% of the ball with a pass success rate of 83%. While they started out the season by scoring their goals on penalties, they now have six goals from open goal. They have averaged one goal per game (eight total) with an average of 18 shots per game for a 5% conversion rate.

Hull city actually have a better conversion rate with 8% thanks to their 10 shots per game and just under one goal per game. They have an average of 41% possession with a pass success rate of 75%.

My prediction is for a Tottenham win. Hull have conceded an average of 15.3 shots per game and they are coming up against the team with the second most shots per game average in the EPL. If Hull have any chance of getting a result in this match they will need to defend well. They have averaged 4.5 shots blocked per game as well as 31.6 clearances, both of which put them in the top half of the statistics in the league.

Betting Odds: Tottenham win: 1.43-1.50; Draw: 4.40-4.50; Hull win: 7.29-8.00

Form: Tottenham (L, W, W, D, L, W)   Hull (L, D, W, W, D, L)

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 2 – 0 Hull City
