The week 8 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

The international break should have been a good one for both Swansea City and Sunderland considering the recent form of both teams. Most everyone knows about Sunderland’s terrible start under Di Canio that has them at the bottom of the table with one point. During this time they have scored five goals and allowed a league high 16.

In this time Swansea hasn’t done a whole lot better. They are in 15th place with seven points having a 2-1-4 record by scoring eight goals and allowing 11. Their involvement in the Europa League, while getting good results there, has seemed to affect their form in the Premier League.

My prediction is for a Swansea City win. Being at home will certainly be a help for them and it could be one of those matches in which they really pile on the goals. I’m sure Sunderland’s new manager, Gus Poyet, will have been working hard on solidifying the Black Cats defense and this could be a saving factor for them. There is always the chance that Sunderland turn things around now that they do have a new manager. The odds for Sunderland getting a draw or a win are perhaps the best they have had all season.

Betting Odds: Swansea win: 1.57-1.62; Draw: 3.88-4.10; Sunderland win: 6.04-6.52

Form: Swansea (L, W, D, W, L, L)  Sunderland (D, L, L, L, L, L)

Prediction: Swansea 1 – 0 Sunderland
