Premier League Preview for Manchester United v Southampton along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 8 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Manchester United find themselves in a position that they have not been in for over two decades. Struggling to get results, let alone wins, they are currently in ninth place with only ten points with a 3-1-3 record. Their defensive record has been hurting as well after allowing nine goals and scoring ten.

Southampton, meanwhile, has managed a fantastic start that puts them in fourth place on 14 points. They have a 4-2-1 record with seven goals, but have only allowed a league low two goals.

This should be a very interesting match to watch and one that is not as straight forward as it once may have been. Manchester United are clearly struggling at both ends of the pitch while Southampton have looked good and have been able to build on last season’s tactical changes.

My prediction is for a narrow Manchester United win, but I would say that this is a match that really could go either way. Which United team will show up for this one? Southampton had been struggling to score goals, but have now scored five of their seven in the last three matches, which also includes an away win against Liverpool. This could certainly be a match to look at a Southampton draw or even a win, especially considering that Southampton has now kept four consecutive clean sheets.

Betting Odds: Man United win: 1.54-1.60; Draw: 4.06-4.34; Southampton: 6.23-6.76

Form: Man United (D, L, W, L, L, W)  Southampton (D, L, D, W, W, W)

Prediction: Manchester United 1 – 0 Southampton
