The week 6 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Everton are currently the last remaining Premier League team to be unbeaten. This has put them in 6th place on nine points. They started the season with three straight draws, but have now strung together two straight wins, including the come back 3-2 over West Ham. They have scored a total of six goals and allowed four.

Newcastle United were also involved in a 3-2 match, though they were on the receiving end of a loss to Hull City. Their -3 goal difference is thanks to allowing eight goals and scoring five. They have been able to score two goals in the past two games and only one in the three games prior.

Everton has adapted well to Roberto Martinez’s tactics and have been dominating possession as well as further developing their passing. In comparing passing statistics both teams have fairly high success rates with Everton at 84% and Newcastle at 80%. Where the real difference comes is in the number of passes made. Everton have already made 535 passes while Newcastle have made 474. Overall Everton have also averaged 60% possession compared to Newcastle’s 49%. I would say that all of these statistics certainly favor Everton.

My prediction is for an Everton win. I initially picked Newcastle to score a goal, but after looking over the statistics, it looks more likely that Everton will be able to hold on to yet another clean sheet. They have kept clean sheets in their last seven home matches.

Betting Odds: Everton win: 1.59-1.62; Draw: 3.80-4.08; Newcastle win: 5.71-6.50

Form: Everton (D, D, D, W, W)     Newcastle (L, D, W, W, L)

Prediction: Everton 2 – 0 Newcastle United
