The week 4 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Swansea City has not started out as well as they would have liked. Most pundits felt that this was a team that could’ve gotten a result from their opening match against Manchester United, instead they were overrun and now sit in 13th place on four points.

They have played well in all of their four opening matches, but lacked clinical finishing in their two losses. In their recent draw to Liverpool the real difference came in Jonjo Shelvey’s two mistakes in giving the ball away in the final third.

Swansea have dominated possession with an average of 56% over their four matches and an 87% pass completion rate. In this time they have managed an average of 14 shots per game and 1.3 goals per game (five goals scored) for a 9% conversion rate.

Crystal Palace has not been terrible to start the season despite sitting in 18th place on three points with a lone 3-1 win over Sunderland. They too have a 9% conversion rate with their 10.3 shots per game for an average of 1 goal per game (four goals scored).

My prediction is for a Swansea City win. Crystal Palace may be able to pull off a result, but I think it would be a rather shocking one. In Swansea’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Monday, they looked strong and looked like they were finally started to settle in as a team. They will almost certainly dominate in possession, but Crystal Palace could find a way back into the match through set pieces as well as capitalizing on defensive errors from Swansea.

Betting Odds: Crystal Palace win: 2.91-3.16; Draw: 3.29-3.40; Swansea win: 2.42-2.50

Form: Crystal Palace (L, L, W, L)     Swansea City (L, L, W, D)

Prediction: Crystal Palace 0 – 1 Swansea City
