Premier League Previews 2013-14

Premier League Preview for Southampton v West Ham along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 4 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Both Southampton and West Ham United have started out this season with a win, draw and loss. Both are teams trying to break into the top ten, but not starting out they way that they had hoped to.

Southampton have scored two goals and allowed two while West Ham is coming in having scored two and allowing only one. The problem for West Ham is that those two goals scored came in their first match of the season.

I think West Ham will cope well with Southampton’s largely possession based game and will look to counter with long balls. However, West Ham will still be without Andy Carroll who was reported to have reinjured his foot earlier this week after attempting to return to training. Without that large target man they could struggle to score.

My prediction is for a draw, but a Southampton win would not be out of the question. I think West Ham will struggle to get all three points and would most likely settle for an away draw.

Betting Odds: Southampton win: 1.86-1.91; Draw: 3.47-3.59; West Ham win: 4.26-4.87

Form: Southampton (W, D, L)     West Ham (W, D, L)

Prediction: Southampton 1 – 1 West Ham United
