Week 2 Sunday Premier League Results and Highlights [VIDEO]

Premier League Video Highlights

Week 2 of the Premier League featured two matches on Sunday. Check out the results and video highlights of Tottenham v Swansea and Cardiff City v Manchester City.

Tottenham come into today’s match looking to establish themselves as true contenders for a top four spot while Swansea need to get a result to show they can challenge teams at the top. Manchester City are hoping to prove that they can win in Wales after struggling to do so the last two seasons. Cardiff, meanwhile, will want to show that they can put up a challenge for Premier League teams and not get walked over.

Tottenham Hotspur 1 – 0 Swansea City: Tottenham had most of the best chances in the first half and showed some excellent skill in passing, but Swansea continued to hold them off to keep it goalless. Tottenham really should have had a penalty just before the half when Jonjo Shelvey clearly fouled Andros Townsend in the box. Inexplicably it was given as a free kick. Poor refereeing. More poor refereeing came in the second half when Nacer Chadli went down in the box near Shelvey, with the ref giving the penalty this time. Replays showed this was a clear dive, but the penalty kick was dispatched by Roberto Soldado to give Tottenham all three points.

Cardiff City 3 – 2 Manchester City: Despite Manchester City dominating the first half with 62% possession, Cardiff City managed to hold on to a goalless draw at the break. Additionally, Cardiff had the best chances with 5 shots (2 on goal) compared to only 3 shots (1 on target) for Man City. The second half resulted in the biggest upset of the season. Edin Dzeko opened the scoring for Manchester City, but Cardiff got a goal from Aron Gunnarsson and two goals from Frazier Campbell before a stoppage time consolation goal from Negredo.
