With the 2013-14 Premier League season kicking off last weekend Todd’s weekly predictions got under way as well. In week 2 I continue with my EPL picks for all of the weekend’s matches.
In week 1 there were a few surprises and some matches that went as expected. All around it was a good start to the new Premier League season. Arsenal were a bit unlucky with some referee decisions, but Aston Villa were good and did deserve the win. Liverpool started out the season scoring the first goal in the EPL year, but perhaps should have done more with their possession.
I thought there would be more draws on the first day, but the Norwich v Everton match ended up being the only one. I would say that the results for both Southampton and Fulham were great for them and somewhat unexpected; especially since they both came on the road.
Manchester United got off to a flying start with their win even though Swansea did look good for most of the match, perhaps even the better team at times. Chelsea’s title challenge started out well as the dominant team against Hull City. They probably should have scored more. The same could be said of Tottenham against Crystal Palace, in another match in which a London club was dominant against a newly promoted side. West Ham did very well against Cardiff City who weren’t able to cope with West Ham’s attack.
In week two there are some more very good matches coming up. Stay tuned for this week’s Premier League Previews as well as I will be previewing each of the weekend’s matches.
Here are my Predictions for week 2 of the Premier League:
