Todd’s Premier League Predictions is back for the 2013-14 EPL season. It has been a mostly uneventful summer with typical transfers and rumors. You can check out a list of Summer Premier League transfers with a club by club rundown of transfer dealings kept updated regularly.
In week one for the 2013-14 English Premier League there are some excellent match-ups. While Liverpool v Stoke City isn’t exactly a marquee match to start the season it is one that should be very interesting. With the Luis Suarez saga continuing, along with his suspension, there is plenty of drama. It will also be the start of Mark Hughes’ time at Stoke.
Arsenal v Aston Villa will provide a good test for both teams to start the season. Aston Villa certainly stand a chance of getting a result and it should be a close match, though I’m picking Arsenal to just edge out a home win.
Norwich v Everton brings Roberto Martinez’s first match in charge of the Toffees against a Norwich team that brought in some quality players this offseason. This should be a quality match to watch as well.
Swansea City will welcome Premier League Champions Manchester United to the Liberty Stadium. Swansea did bolster their squad this summer and this will not be an easy first EPL match in charge of United for David Moyes. While he did bring a trophy to United already with the 2013 Community Shield win, the real season starts on Saturday. A draw would be beneficial for both clubs, but this is one that could easily go either way.
Tottenham should be able to beat Crystal Palace while Chelsea shouldn’t have any difficulties with Hull City. I’m picking Manchester City to win at home against Newcastle United, even though Newcastle could give them a difficult match.
Here are all of my week one Premier League Predictions.
