Hull City was automatically promoted from the Championship last season after placing second. In the 2013-14 Premier League season Hull will be looking to maintain their stay in the EPL.
Hull has gone out and picked up several decent signings this summer without having to break the bank. This has included two goalkeepers in Steve Harper and Allan McGregor, defenders Curtis Davies and Maynor Figeroa, midfielder Ahmed Elmohamady, and forwards Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo.
In the Championship Hull ended with a positive goal difference of nine, but did seem to struggle with scoring goals. While they were fourth in goals allowed they were 15th in goals scored. Their defensive record, along with adding some quality defenders, will help them in their bid to stay up this 2013-14 Premier League season.
While they were able to add to their defense this summer the changes up front with Danny Graham and Yannick Sagbo joining will be crucial in keeping Hull out of the drop zone. My prediction is that Hull will not be able to survive this season and will be relegated. While they have made changes to their team, there are too many other teams around them that are stronger. If they do want to survive they will need to be able to beat those teams around them and work on maintaining a neutral or positive goal difference against better teams.
