Premier League Preview for Manchester City v West Bromwich Albion along with Predictions for the matches on week 37 of the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week. You can also check out the weekly EPL TV Schedule.
Both teams are coming into Tuesday’s match having just played EPL fixtures on Saturday and coming off of disappointing matches. West Brom’s being the more disappointing after twice taking the lead and ending up with a loss.
For Tuesday’s match I’m expecting a mostly reserve team from Mancini in the buildup to Saturday’s FA Cup Final. For the FA Cup this season he has gone with Costel Pantilimon in goal and I’m predicting he will give him a rare Premier League start this week to prepare for Saturday.
West Brom are in a safe position, but certainly not where Steve Clarke is ready to give up and let his team let up. They just about have eighth place wrapped up, but if they continue dropping points Swansea or West Ham could just as easily leapfrog them.
At this point neither team has a whole lot to play for, although, if Manchester City do continue to drop points their second place finish could be in jeopardy. West Brom has shown in the past two weeks that they are going to go out there and go for wins, even if they aren’t in danger of dropping. My prediction for Tuesday’s Premier League match is a draw. Manchester City’s bench isn’t the deepest in terms of attacking options and Mancini will certainly want to rest most of his best players. That said, it is still a strong team and they are playing at home, so there is every chance they will prove me wrong.
Man City (L, W, W, W, L, W, D) 1 – 1 West Brom (W, D, L, L, D, W, L)
