Premier League Predictions: West Bromwich Albion v Arsenal Match Preview

West Bromwich Albion

Premier League Preview for West Brom v Arsenal along with Predictions for the matches on week 32 of the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week. You can also check out the weekly EPL TV Schedule.

West Brom’s recent form has been very inconsistent with only three wins in their last 10 and five losses. On the other side of the pitch is Arsenal, whose form is nearly opposite with three losses and six wins.

If Arsenal’s recent run of form had been more consistent through the season then they wouldn’t be in such a dire need for wins at the moment in chasing a fourth place finish in the Premier League table. Arsenal definitely has more at stake in Saturday’s match since they are trying to get the final Champions League place and this has led to more of a sense of urgency from the team.

West Brom’s biggest problem lately is a lack of consistency. In their past six matches they have scored 7 while allowing 6. They seemed to have been on a good run with wins over Liverpool and Swansea, while also playing well against Chelsea, but then failed to score against Stoke and looked rather bad against West Ham.

If West Brom’s home record is anything to go by then this could be a close match. They are 9-2-4 scoring 23 and allowing only 14. Arsenal on the road are 6-5-4 scoring 20 and allowing 13. With that in mind I have a feeling this will be a close match, but also one that Arsenal needs much more than West Brom. I could very easily see a draw coming. The key will most likely be in who is able to score first.

If the Baggies get themselves an early goal it could lead to Arsenal chasing the game and leaving them more exposed at the back. While Arsenal’s defense has gotten better, they are still prone to errors, which could easily be pounced on by Romelu Lukaku.

My prediction is a narrow Arsenal win in what will surely be a close, hard fought, tactical match.

West Brom (W, L, W, D, L)    1 – 2   Arsenal (W, W, L, W, W)
