This Preview for Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur includes my Premier League Predictions and pre-match analysis for Match Week 29 of the EPL.
This is probably the match of the weekend in the Premier League. Both teams have had some good results lately, although Spurs have 4 wins in a row and all against some difficult competition. Liverpool’s two big wins came against a weakened Swansea side and against lowly Wigan.
With that said, Liverpool’s wins did give them something to build on and they looked good, very fluid, in both games. They will need to keep this up if they want to get past Tottenham on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if Andre Villas Boas decides to play a high defensive line again, which could prove costly against such a quick Liverpool frontline. At the same time, Liverpool haven’t had the most solid defense this season and Jermain Defoe’s return to the side could prove to be the difference.
I’m predicting a rather open, end to end match with goals coming for both teams. This is going to be one of those games that epitomizes the Premier League style of all action all the time. My pick is a Tottenham win with Gareth Bale getting at least one goal. I think their speed at the front is going to be too much for Liverpool’s back line.
Liverpool (D, D, L, W, W) 2 – 3 Tottenham (D, W, W, W, W)
