|Man United – 1||Swansea – 1|

The first half of this Premier League match was full of action. Both teams had their fair share of chances (United with 8 shots and 4 on target; Swansea with 9 shots and 6 on target) and both teams getting goals. Manchester United opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a Patrice Evra off a Robin van Persie corner. At the other end Swansea was threatening through a speedy counterattack in which Michu was always a danger. Eventually they leveled the score in the 29th minute when Michu came on to snatch the rebound after Johnathan de Guzman’s shot was saved by David de Gea. Half time ended with the score level at 1-1.The 75th minute brought some controversy as Ashley Williams decided to kick the ball off the back of Robin van Persie’s head after the whistle was blown as van Persie was on the ground after being fouled at the top of the box. Wayne Rooney’s ensuing free kick defined his day as he put it off the wall. Rooney played hard and put in a “shift,” but that wasn’t enough to say that it was a good outing for him. He was poor throughout the entirety of the match. Michel Vorm made a fantastic save on the next corner when Michael Carrick’s header was destined for the back of the net. Manchester United were largely the dominant team. They had several excellent chances including 2 that went off the crossbar. In the end, Swansea’s defense held strong and a point apiece was all that came of it. For United this means that they remain top of the league with a 4 point lead over Man City. Sir Alex Ferguson will certainly be displeased with his side’s inability to score more than 1 goal as well as conceding yet another goal.
