I really wish I could’ve seen this one. A great match for the neutrals, though probably a hard one to watch for the fans, especially for Fulham. I predicted a 2 – 2 draw for this one and was off by one goal apiece. Both sides will be wishing they had finished off more of their chances, particularly Pavel Pogrebnyak who missed a clear chance in the 5th minute when he headed wide from only 5 yards out.
Mikele Leigertwood started out the scoring in the 26th minute with a cracking one-touch volley from the top of the box, certainly a goal of the week nominee. While both sides had more chances nothing came until the 61st when Bryan Ruiz leveled the score. This was followed up by Chris Baird headed Ruiz’s corner in the 77th minute.
The match ended frantically with 3 goals scored in a 5 minute span. Garath McCleary though he had brought them all level when Berbatov put Fulham ahead. Hal Robson-Kanu managed to save a desperate point for Reading who remain in the bottom three on 4 points, but still have a game in hand.
