Week 33 Premier League Predictions 2016-17

Week 33 Premier League Predictions 2016-17

Perhaps the biggest surprise, and yet far from a surprise, was Crystal Palace running out 3-0 winners over Arsenal to drop them down into sixth and increase the pressure on Arsene Wenger. This weekend is their chance to turn things around as they face struggling Middlesbrough. While I’m predicting a comfortable win for the Gunners, it’s yet another tricky fixture for them and one that they could certainly slip up on again.

Meanwhile Manchester United finally won a match, albeit against bottom of the table Sunderland. Their match on Sunday against Chelsea is a chance to push for a top four place, but it also comes less than 72 hours from their trip to Anderlecht in the Europa League. This is also Chelsea’s chance to continue their push to claiming the Premier League title.

Tottenham shouldn’t have any trouble overcoming Bournemouth on Saturday morning which should put some pressure on Chelsea to win, although I believe it will be a rather dull match, barring any more horrendous refereeing decisions. Jose Mourinho will surely want to prove a point against his former club so I’m expecting a strong team to play and a mostly defensive effort from the Red Devils to try to stifle Chelsea.

Week FPL 33 FPL Matchups

Remember to continue to build your team for week 34. Crystal Palace and Manchester United are your two best choices with Middlesbrough being so bad that even a double gameweek isn’t enough to warrant adding them. The one positive going for adding any Middlesbrough player is that they will most likely be an immense differential considering how terrible they have been.

Liverpool and Tottenham have great fixtures coming up and Dell Alli is certainly the pick of this bunch. With 16 goals already this season he is the fourth highest point scorer just ahead of teammate Christian Eriksen and three points behind Eden Hazard. His recent form means that I would rate him above Hazard and possibly even Alexis Sanchez whose own form has dipped recently. With fixtures against Bournemouth (H), Crystal Palace (A), and Arsenal (H), they have some tricky matches, but they are also at the top of the form table with six consecutive wins in the Premier League as well as 11 wins at home.
